GMT Receives Warm Reception in Kogi State as Governor and Former Governor Pledge Support for President Tinubu’s Re‑election

The Grassroot Mobilizers for Tinubu (GMT) were accorded a warm and enthusiastic welcome in Lokoja, Kogi State, as part of their nationwide engagement tour in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re‑election campaign. The rally drew a large turnout of party loyalists, community leaders and supporters from across the state, reflecting a display of unity and renewed commitment to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

A high‑profile GMT delegation traveled to Kogi to participate in the event. Leading the team were Smarce O. Ezimechine, Director‑General of the GMT Delta State Chapter; Dr. Oladipupo Okeyomi, Coordinating Director of Interstate Affairs; and Senator Abubakar Ohere, Director‑General of the GMT Kogi State Chapter. Their arrival was met with warm hospitality from the state’s political leadership.

Governor Usman Ododo welcomed the delegation alongside the Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Salifu, and they were joined by former Governor Yahaya Bello, whose presence underscored the rally’s significance. Other notable attendees included Alhaji Jibrin Momoh, former Accountant‑General of Kogi State; Hon. Abdullahi Bello (Dollars), State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi; Senator Adeyemi Smart; and a broad array of senior party figures and grassroots stakeholders.

In their remarks, Governor Ododo and former Governor Bello praised GMT’s relentless grassroots organizing and outreach. They commended the group’s work in galvanizing support for the Tinubu administration and pledged their unwavering backing for the President’s re‑election bid. The governors underscored the imperative of unity within the APC, affirming Kogi State’s continued role as a strategic party stronghold and its commitment to advancing the administration’s development priorities.

Responding on behalf of the GMT delegation, Smarce O. Ezimechine expressed gratitude for the generous reception and the solidarity demonstrated by Kogi’s leadership and grassroots supporters. He reiterated GMT’s resolve to maintain sustained engagement across Nigeria’s states to ensure broad‑based support for the continuity of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Ezimechine emphasized that grassroots mobilization remains central to consolidating the strides made so far and to shaping a future of inclusive progress.

The Lokoja rally served not only as an affirmation of local support but also as an illustration of the growing nationwide momentum behind President Tinubu’s re‑election campaign. With endorsements from both incumbent and former state executives and active participation from party structures, the event highlighted coordinated efforts to preserve gains made under the current administration and to advance development initiatives that resonate with citizens at the community level.

As GMT continues its nationwide outreach, the reception in Kogi reinforces the organization’s role as a key mobilizing force within the APC. By engaging local leaders, party officials and ordinary citizens, GMT seeks to translate grassroots energy into sustained political support and civic participation, ensuring that the policy agenda of the Renewed Hope initiative receives broad ownership and practical momentum across Nigeria.

The dialogue and pledges emanating from Lokoja signal a focused determination among Kogi’s political leadership to support the Tinubu ticket in the coming electoral cycle. The event further demonstrated the strategic importance of grassroots networks in galvanizing voter confidence, strengthening party cohesion and promoting the continuity of governance priorities designed to drive economic recovery and social development.

In closing, the GMT delegation thanked Kogi’s leaders and supporters for their hospitality and reiterated their commitment to continue working diligently at the grassroots level. The successful rally in Lokoja marks another important stop on GMT’s tour and a reaffirmation of the movement’s dedication to mobilizing citizens in support of President Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria’s future.
