BREAKING NEWS: FG DECLARES PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR WORKERS’ DAY CELEBRATION.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday in honor of this year’s Workers’ Day celebration.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who emphasized the importance of peace as a catalyst for industrialization and economic growth in the country.
In a statement signed by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister praised Nigerian workers for their unwavering diligence and sacrifice.
> “There is dignity in labour; the dedication and commitment to the work we do is vital to nation-building,” he said.
He further encouraged workers across the nation to embrace innovation and increase productivity in their respective fields. Dr. Tunji-Ojo stated that the government’s aim is to improve governance standards and ensure that all Nigerians benefit from the country’s wealth.
The Minister also reassured citizens of the government’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of all residents, both citizens and foreigners alike.
As part of his address, he urged Nigerians to remain hopeful, reaffirming the Tinubu administration’s commitment to its Renewed Hope Agenda.
